Start with a blank report template or by opening your Google Data Studio report.

Connect a data source (in this case, I’m using sample data from Google Analytics).

Go to Community Visualization from the toolbar

Allow it to be added to your Google Data Studio report by clicking on it.

You can now drag it to draw it on your canvas.

Before looking at how to lay out these funnels in Google Data Studio, let’s first look at how this design appears on our data.

In your Google Data Studio report, add a Metric funnel from community visualization.

In the same manner that we did for the funnel chart in the section before, add metrics.

As you can see, your funnel has been completed, has a more recognizable design, and looks more appealing and realistic.

How to Create a Funnel in Google Data Studio: Funnel Chart Customization
It’s time to learn how to style and modify these funnels using the Style tab located in the sidebar of the Google Data Studio chart. We have already learned how to make a funnel in Google Data Studio using two distinct third-party apps from the community visualization. Therefore, let’s start the customization of the funnel.

The colors of the funnel components can be changed. (Color of each layer cannot be changed)

We can change the font’s family, size, and color.

Checkboxes labeled “show% vs initial” and “show% vs previous” can be used to compare data points through layers more effectively.

The background color of the funnel chart can be changed altogether.

Here, we have the option to add a border, complete with a border style, radius, color, weight, and shadow.

How to Create a Funnel in Google Data Studio: Customization of Metric Funnel
After exploring two different kinds of funnels, we’ll learn how to customize a funnel in Google Data Studio in this part. their construction and one of them being customized. We are going to learn how to change Google Data Studio’s metric funnel.
Step 1>
First, we can invert its position by checking the “Invert funnel” box.
Step 2>
We can use either of the two available styles—”Dynamic width” or “Dynamic Height“—but for the funnel, we typically select “Dynamic width” so that it resembles a funnel rather than a triangle.

Below, we can choose any other position to display the labels for each layer of the funnel; none are now selected.

Below, we can often modify the labels’ font color, size, and family.
Step 5>
Our funnel can now have a legend added to it. It is none by default, but you can choose to make it visible.

The legend’s font family, size, and color can also be changed.
