Insert PowerPoint into OneNote by Attaching a File
By uploading a file that opens Microsoft PowerPoint by clicking through OneNote, we can insert PowerPoint into OneNote using this way.
Step 1>
To include PowerPoint into OneNote, first launch Microsoft OneNote on your PC, then select the notebook and page that you wish to include PowerPoint into.
Step 2>
Once the notebook is open, navigate to the “Insert” tab in Microsoft OneNote’s menu bar, as seen in the below image. To add PowerPoint to OneNote, click on it.
Step 3>
All of the insert options will show up in OneNote’s toolbar when you click on the “Insert” tab. Click the “File attachment” option that is indicated below from these alternatives.
Step 4>
You can browse a file from your device in a little new window that appears when you click on the “File attachment” option. We will choose a PPT file to insert because we need to insert PowerPoint here. After choosing the file, just click the “Insert” button to insert it.
Step 5>
Before inserting the file, you will get another brief pop-up window with a few options as soon as you click the “Insert” button. As seen below, we will select the “Attach file” option in the example that follows.
Step 6>
Your PowerPoint file will attach to OneNote as a result of selecting the “Attach file” option, and you will see an icon for the file in front of you that you can use or open with ease.
Step 7>
The following image shows what happens when you click on this file icon from OneNote: PowerPoint opens your file automatically.
Insert PowerPoint into OneNote by File Printout
Using this method, we will import all of the slides from PowerPoint into OneNote.
Step 1>
Using the same procedure as before, we will launch Microsoft OneNote, choose the note to which you wish to add PowerPoint, and then select the “Insert” tab from the menu bar. Select the “File attachment” option from the Insert tab, as indicated in the below image.
Step 2>
To add a file into OneNote, open a small new window that opens independently of OneNote, browse among the files there, and then click the “Insert” button.
Step 3>
The PPT file won’t be immediately inserted into OneNote; instead, a brief new pop-up window with a few options will show up. For now, we’ll choose the “Insert Printout” option, as seen below.
Step 4>
As you can see in the below GIF, this choice will insert every slide into OneNote. Thus, you should use the “Insert Printout” option if you wish to add PowerPoint slides into OneNote.
How to attach PowerPoint to OneNote?
You can attach PowerPoint into OneNote by inserting the file link, for instance, if you are composing a note and only want to attach a portion of the file rather than the complete file. However, you must upload the file to OneDrive first. Let me show you in the steps that follow.
Step 1>
First, we’ll launch Microsoft OneDrive. To access OneDrive, visit the Microsoft website and use the “OneDrive” application. Alternatively, you can look for OneDrive online.
Step 2>
As seen in the following image, once you have launched Microsoft OneDrive, you will notice an “Upload” button in front of you. To upload the file to OneDrive, click on it.
Step 3>
You can browse and choose your PowerPoint file in the small new window that appears after clicking the “Upload” button. Then, click the “Open” button. An upload of your file will occur.
Step 4>
After uploading your file, choose it with the right-click menu. A “Share” button will appear in the small drop-down menu that appears.
Step 5>
When you click the “Share” button, a little pop-up box with the option to “Copy link” will show up. Clicking this button will create a link to your work.
Step 6>
You can check the results in the picture below. The link has been generated and copied.
Step 7>
Open Microsoft OneNote now, and choose the text to which you wish to attach a PowerPoint link, just as I have done in the screenshot below.
Step 8>
Once you’ve selected the text, pick the “Insert” tab from OneNote’s menu bar. From there, you can quickly enter a link into OneNote by using the “Link” option that appears. After choosing the text, you can also insert the link by pressing the shortcut key “Ctrl + K.”
Step 9>
When asked to paste the URL to be inserted, a little new window dialogue box will popup in OneNote. Paste the link to the PPT file that we copied from OneDrive into the address box. The link can be pasted by performing a right-click on this area and selecting the “Paste” button, or by placing the cursor here and pressing “Ctrl + V.”
Step 10>
After inserting a link, apply it to the chosen text by clicking the “OK” button.
Step 11>
The selected text will become blue as you click the “OK” button, as shown in the below image. Click on it to launch the PowerPoint file.
Step 12>
The result is in front of you; when clicking the link, you will be taken straight to the Microsoft PowerPoint version of this PPT file stored on OneDrive.
